Academy On-Ice Workout

Our Academy Power is a great class for skaters who have passed Basic 4 through Freestyle 4. In the class, we build on the skills the skaters have already learned and introduce new combinations of those skills. Skaters are also introduced to stamina and endurance training. It's a great workout! Adults have enjoyed this class just as much as the younger skaters. A variety of Academy Instructors will teach this class... so it's a great opportunity for new ideas to be introduced.

The Figure Skating Club of Minneapolis is pleased to offer
on and off ice classes this summer. By taking these classes,
skaters will benefit from comprehensive training in:
Ballet, Pilates, Muscle Memory, Isolation Exercises, Flexibility,
Stretching, Range of Motion, Body Line, Body Awareness,
Expression, Coordination, Balance, Rhythm, Jumping and more!
On-Ice Workouts are technical and involve working with
skaters on stroking, edge work, footwork, jumps, spins,
drills, style, performance, endurance training and more.
This class is open to skaters who have passed either ISI or USFS Freestyle 4.
Off-Ice Workout
Current Session: Wednesdays 6:40-7:25pm; March 3rd - June 7th
OR Saturdays 11:45-12:45pm; March 3rd - June 7th

Off-Ice Workouts benefit skaters by providing comprehensive
training in Ballet, Pilates, Conditioning, Muscle Isolation,
Strength and Control. This class is open to skaters who are
7 years or older and have passed ISI FS1 or USFS Basic 8.
Tennis shoes are required for this class and ballet shoes are
recommended.
Pilates
Current Session: There is no Pilates Scheduled at this time.

Pilates is a series of non-impact exercises designed by
Joseph Pilates to develop strength, balance and inner
awareness. Often referred to as the “Ivy League” school
of Pilates, Stott Pilates is a contemporary approach to the
original teaching of Joseph Pilates and is the optimal way
to achieve equilibrium within the body, so our body works
like it should. This class will be taught by Marla Polk, a certified Stott
Pilates instructor. Class participants will meet at the FSC
of Minneapolis Club Room at Augsburg Arena 10 minutes
prior to the start of class.
